In the essence of Think Global. Act Local., Bottle Top Hill Inc. is a vibrant, not-for-profit initiative that operates entirely through the dedication of local volunteers from Perth, Western Australia. Their monthly public events focus on community engagement, education and recycling small items that are a localised issue and typically too small to go into standard kerbside recycling bins.

By being accessible and creating an avenue to recover these items as part of the circular economy, Bottle Top Hill facilitates the diversion of specified waste items being sent to landfill or incinerated, assists in the decontamination process to ensure a purer resource stream, reclaims specified items to help reduce litter and marine debris, and in turn strives to bring home simple methods to improve environmentally sustainable behaviour.

This award-winning community project is based in Melville, WA and provides a networking forum raising awareness on the benefits of waste avoidance, resource recovery and sustainability through participation in the BTH 12R’s® program.

Bottle Top Hill is a Proud Partner of Act Belong Commit, Mentally Healthy WA, Member of Volunteering WA and is a Community Service Organisation helping to Care for Country. Care for Each Other.

The Bottle Top Hill Community has diligently saved millions of plastic lids from landfill and the environment, including high volumes of over 20 other ‘tricky-to-recycle’ waste streams captured by supporting members of the public.
